Originating in Chisholm, MN on the Iron Range, John Gornick got his start by opening a meat market in 1916. Central Meat Market offered a wide variety of high quality meat and poultry. In 1953, his son Albert took over the family business. Although Albert was always interested in the medical field, he was an entrepreneur at heart. In 1959, he wanted to improve his fresh meat sales and boost profits. He started mixing seasoning for pork roasts until he perfected his “formula”.  It is known today as a Porketta.  Several years later this same seasoning was used on Turkey which eventually became known as the Turketta. Building on the recipes that our Grandpa Albert created, we are excited to offer the original Porketta and Turketta seasoning blend as well as an All-Purpose blend.
